yeah ... i kindda have to agree with phusion... tho i still believe that deviantart has his good side like everything... and his bad sides too. It sucks that the internet is a "farwest" right now... no law and nothing... i feel sorry that people take your art to do shitty stuff... but on another point... i guess...u make action vs that magazine... maybe not deviantart users ( they get banned for rip anyways (right? :o ) ) but it would give u exposure to get $$ for what u do :\ nyhow...

i hate to say it, but putting your art on deviantart is like throwing chum into a pool of sharks. Its a database ripe with high-resolution images for any one to take for the picking. Long ago i came to this realization, i'm pretty sure people at a couple local technical colleges have ripped stuff straight off my deviantart and personal website and turned it in as their own work... its happened frequently enough that i'm surprised no ones been caught yet.

anyways, the fact most people are lazy bastards and will do anything to make a quick buck.

the only solution would appear to be place obnoxious copyright/watermarks across images, that is until a secure digital image format (something like adobe's PDF, but for images) becomes widespread. it would have to load images in a manner similiar to mpegs so you couldn't just "print screen" it either.

I remember much the same thing had happened to Aysha Shehim a while back. Frustrating as all hell. Being ripped allways is. I can't imagine it being on a CD... :| Oi.

I suppose just now, the best you can do is have the administrator people make him remove it. I don't suppose there's really any doubt. I mean, heck, -I- remember seeing the piece in uestion on Frenchies page months and months ago. Like, back when you first drew it.

gimp. I'd castrate him, but he's french. He'd probably LIKE it, or something. gah. french people.

*hugsofsupport*

fear not! we shall beat this frenchie together! XD

This is some crazy whack stuff, and the worst partof it is that it can happen to anyone anytime anywhere...even beyond DevArt. It's upsetting, but true.

Stay Strong my DA people!

I've asked $realitysquared to take care of those rips, and to see if he can find out where the cd was purchased from ;)
