my gallery is back online here at deviantART.  i believe in the community.  and i love jark.

my prints are not back yet.  and im not sure if/when they will be.

but my computer is .. for all practical purposes .. dead.
there have been some horrible losses, that still make me want to cry.
`musicinmyhead is building me a new one, and in a week, he is going to make an attempt to find the lost things on my computer.

ERIN and TRACEE, specifically, EMAIL ME PLEASE.
the commission stuff ive worked on for yall isnt gone, but i DONT have *any* of my emails from the past two years (which is the hardest thing for me to cope with).  and deviantART nearly kills the computer im on right now if its up for more than 5 minutes.
others who have commissioned me, feel free to email me, too.  but i dont feel right about working on yours until ive finished erins and then tracees.  theyve felt the brunt of my crappy computer and its slowness.

t52 . org
i still want the truth.

i will marry a cowboy.

That happened to me before too. I did have a backup, but it wasn't recent enough for me to even use or really care about. It almost made me cry too. Well, actually I wanted to cry, but I was too madly upset and frustrated to cry. I really felt like throwing the thing against a wall or off an overpass in rush hour traffic (not to hit anyone mind you) so that it could get run over by a HUGE truck carrying something top secret and really heavy for the military. I didn't do any of that, because I had to sell a kidney to pay for it (not really).

Um, yeah. I guess I'm trying to say I feel your pain. Except that your pain is probably worse than mine because the "stuff" you had on your computer was, most likely, way cooler -can I say cooler? - than the "stuff" on mine. Sorry, that probably didn't make you feel any better. Well, I hope it all works out for you in the end and you salvage your "lost coins" and are able to breathe again. Much love.

If the old hard drive is still intact, it should be relatively easy to recover files if you make the old drive a slave drive in te new computer. As for mail, it depends on what program you used. If you used Outlook Express, you can copy the database files where mail is stored. If you used Outlook, you can import the .pst file from the old drive onto the new one. And if you use Mozilla Thunderbird/Mozilla/Netscape Mesenger, you can just copy the Mail folder in the old Program Files directory.

I've had to do that kind of recovery lots of times where I work.

Good luck on recovering your stuff.

Po' baby. I hate computers when they act like fools. You can't even slap them around, and you know you want to. I hope your stuff can be saved though and then life will be good. So be positive and don't despair. And take care and cheers.
