it has been a great many days since i updated this journal. or since i updated anything online, really. ive been trying to focus more on whats going on in my life. and even so, there are a great many of my friends who ive neglected. (`
liquify, ~
speaker, and `
musicinmyhead immediately jump to mind!) i dont really draw much anymore - except for designs to execute in metalsmithing - which is going quite wonderfully, and i couldnt have chosen a better major.
school has quieted down enough that right now, im able to openly offer commissions, so please
email me ( meredith @ black-elephant . com ) if youre interested.
i hope everyone is doing well, and is happy, healthy and in a continual search for improvement!
life is pleasant. these beautiful spring days in texas wont last long. im continually taking advantage of the good weather with a happy heart and open eyes.
i will marry a cowboy.
Metalsmithing? WOW! I never knew that. What an amazing thing to study.
Glad to see you online!
i hung out with this crazy old metalurgist/photographer the other night.. odd i tell ya.
you may end up marrying a cowboy, but you're still having my children!!
weather gets so nutty this time of year! its was so nice and warm this morning, i put on my flowy new skirt. but when i get outa class its suddenly it 15 degrees cooler and the wind is blowing so hard im forced into a very bad impression of marilyn monroe!! lol
its true what they say, "if you dont like the weather in texas, wait 5 mins"
*will be emailing about a comish if thats ok!*
good weather and good week!
I'm from Abilene, do you know where that is?
"its in the middle of no where, reds. were not going."
youre not TOO far west of us! im sure yalls summers are way hotter, though.
you know what area of texas is absolutely GORGEOUS? the hill country - near san antonio. if youve never been.. oh my gosh. its like youre not even in texas. its so crazy.
Ya know what's really crazy? Everyone thinks Texas is so flat and treeless, but there's a stretch between here and St Louis MO that is flatter than anything I've ever seen- almost 75 miles without any hills and almost no trees. THATS crazy. And everyone thinks all Texans are cowboys or divas w/ big hair...so not true. It's like they can't understand that Texas doesnt automatically make you a redneck. They were amazed that I don't have an accent at all.
And someone actually asked me, dead serious, if I live on a ranch. O_o
i do have to say though.... i like trucks. and cowboys. and i like the southern accent when an old lady has it. ;D
