for christmas, my mom bought me a book of alphonse mucha's (my favorite.) drawings and illustrations. after flipping through some of the book, i came to my computer, and drew this.
it was a rather slow process, using lots of techniques that i had never tried, in hopes of capturing a smiliar feel to that which mucha always seemed to embody. women with pleasant and archaic smiles, details without details. muted colors and subtle shifts.
it always makes me downtrodden when i think about what was done to the american indians. a culture ive always been facinated with, and one which i will never be able to see, be it in their warring or peace amongst themselves. i wish our forfathers hadnt betrayed, decieved, and all round abuse the indians.
i know what you mean about the native americans. hehe my anscestors are native americans. but anyways. great pic. i really like hwo this came out. i'll have to look more at this alphonse mucha if this is like his work. cause i really like this.
mere this is beautiful i am myself a huge mucha fan and you have really take beautifully some of his elements in your work what i love the most is that how u fathered both u and him in this piece... and what else can i say... i love the light broken colors palette

wow, that is absolutely gorgeous. if this is what this alphonse mucha's art looks like, i must see more. i think we all feel that way about the indians. provs the early settlers were not as sweet as we all wish they were, infact early americans were just cruel in all rights. it just takes time to nottice the deeper evils i guess. beautiful work. i love it lots.
awesome. you captured it, i sensed the mucha vibe long before reading the description. i love the 'details without detail' . its a very elegant piece. gorgeous. isnt he the best
Very nice clean work. I really dig the forground background framing technique. I'd say you captured his style pretty well, but at the same time, it didn't overpower your own style either. very nice!
