this is GREAT meredith!!
you're playing with watercolors! again!!
look at the pretty fades, the watermarks, the textured paper (arches no doubt!)!
love the loose style! drifting in and out of outlines. the almost surreal application of
symmetry in the coat.
and oh yeah, that style that is your signature, especially with regards to the face and head!
as for what or who i'm going as for halloween,...
ME! of course!
i mean,...could there BE anything more scarier???
I'm going to be a zombie Jenn. It's somehow much less charming than this though. I love the movement. The sepia (am I spelling that right?) is wonderful! A perfect choice for this. The simplicity of the lines and the little details make me so happy. Beautiful work, hon. I can't get over it.
... an adorable caricature... you perfectly captured Li'l Tramp's big feet, which were so prominent in all of Chaplin's films... nice treatment on the suit's stripes, too...
... for Halloween, I am gonna be a zombie construction site flagger... I will be wearing a hardhat, white coveralls, orange safety vest and STOP/SLOW sign, but with huge tiretread prints running up my body...
ooooooooh. i long to be able to watercolor. oh well i will just practice. by the way, i'm going to be a pirate! one step closer to my goal eh M? that's funny... i did a sketch of my costume too...only i messed up on the sword and the face is too small. hehehe
