Artist's Comments

finally, something that turned out how i wanted it to! it took a few go-rounds with different coloring schemes though. but in the end it turned out alright, and i got maeve stand out against the background how i wanted. the sketch began just as a figure study of sorts, and then when i had the opportunity to bunny hop on various friends computers i thought i might as well make something of it. scanned it big, worked pretty quickly (to go along with my new-found devotion to working faster.). i was glad i was using friends computers, seeing as how my computer doesnt do well with large images.

thanks for looking!

Cut me some slack. I just found out that only I can prevent forest fires, and that's a lot of pressure.

This is really nice. It has a kind of lithographic feel to it. And the background makes me think of Maxfield Parrish for some reason. All around a lovely image. :D

i love the subtle colors and the composition of the piece is great! I do feel however that the skin tone in some areas could use a bit more color depth as to give more seperation. I.E. between the thighs and perhaps the neck to show more light direction, also under the breasts...not much just a little darkening would do.
very nice piece though!

Nice. The color palette is very Charles Vess.

she is very beautiful-- i love the white hair with the wraps in it. also, the detailed line on her body that shows her shape is very nicely done. not the line-- but just where you placed the line is really really well done.
