ive had the sketch for this laying around for about a week. originally i wasnt going to go further with it, but with a little convincing from ~ariakitty i finally did.
i also did it with illustrator. and utilized transparencies. a bit daunting at first, but after i did it for a bit, i started to get the hang of it.
it took a bit of doing before i was even remotely happy with the vector. from the original sketch, her head was malproportioned, and her initial head dress thing was just lame. this one is a bit better, i feel.
I love how the coloring has been toned down; helps give the illusion that it's either windy or cold. The detail in the hair-band/thingy-in-the-hair is very nice and smooth. The effect on the wind being blown out is very nice as well.
